Background

Millar Gough Ink is a production company by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.

1st Logo (October 12, 1999-November 10, 2011)

Full-screen version seen on the short series The Strip and some 4:3 prints of Smallville.
Less-cropped version exists and is seen on the 2003 DVD releases and Channel 4 and E4 British airings of the entire 1st season of Smallville. Also seen on ITV2 UK airings of the entire 1st season of the said show.
Regular widescreen version is seen on Smallville, the 2006 TV pilot of Aquaman and the 2011 Charlie's Angels revival.

Logo: In an office setting, we see a bottle filled with orange red ink in it labeled with the company name in an Impact font, also colored in a gold-white gradient at the middle. After one of the music variants are heard, a hammer (which, however, if you look at the bottle very closely, you can see a hammer swinging down, as seen in the white light reflection) swings down and breaks the bottle, causing the ink in it to spread everywhere, covering up the whole screen.

Variants:

There exists an open-matte version of the logo. This can be seen on the short-lived series The Strip and some 4:3 prints of Smallville.
There also exists an less-cropped version of the logo. This can also be seen on 2003 DVD releases, Channel 4 and E4 British airings of the entire 1st season of Smallville. Also seen on ITV2 UK airings of the entire 1st season of the said show.

FX/SFX: Live-action.

Music/Sounds: Depending on the variant:

1999-2000: After the closing theme of the show plays, there is a splattering sound.
2001-2002: Just the sound of a bottle breaking.
February 2002-May 2002: An odd 3-note piano tune.
2002-2011: An 14-note reverberating cartoon ditty.

Music/Sounds Variants:

On episodes "X-Ray" and "Hug" of the 1st season of Smallville, the logo is silent.
On some early episodes of the 2nd season of Smallville such as "Vortex", the reverberating cartoon ditty is somewhat slightly quieter before the bottle breaking sound appears.
Possibly The CW airings of Smallville use a general theme and the announcer.
On the Smallville season 5 episode "Arrival", the bottle breaking sound is in sync with the last note of the music.

Availability: Common. First seen on the short series The Strip. Also later seen on Smallville and the 2011 Charlie's Angels revival. Also later seen on the 2006 TV pilot of Aquaman, which was initially released on iTunes and later included as a bonus feature on the Blu-ray release of Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.

Logo: On a black background, we see the stacked 3-dark red-red gradient words "MILLAR GOUGH" in a Helvetica font. To the right of it is a beaker with a black water-drop in it, and inside the water-drop, we see the text "INK".

FX/SFX: 2D logo, so none.

Music/Sounds: None, or the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Into the Badlands and The Shannara Chronicles.
