Background
Millar Gough Ink is an American film and television production company founded by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.
1st Logo (October 12, 1999-November 10, 2011)
-
Fullscreen
-
Fullscreen with left & right black bars
-
Widescreen
Logo: In an office setting, we see a bottle filled with scarlet ink. A black label covers the bottom half, containing the company name in Impact, gold, and a stacked format. "INK" has a bottom white gradient. A split-second before the logo ends, a hammer swings down and smashes the bottle, causing the ink to spread everywhere, including covering up the whole screen.
Variant: The logo exists in both a fullscreen and widescreen format.
Technique: Live-action.
Music/Sounds: It varies, but they usually end with a glass breaking sound.
- 1999: After the ending theme of the show, the splattering sound is heard.
- 1999-2000: The ending theme of the show.
- 2001-2002: None.
- 2001-2002 (Smallville episodes "X-Ray" and "Hug"): Entirely silent.
- February 2002-May 2002: An odd, three-note piano tune composed by Mark Snow.
- 2002-2011: A reverberating cartoon ditty again composed by Mark Snow.
- Original airings use a generic theme and a voice over.
Availability: Common. First seen on The Strip and was later seen on Smallville, the 2006 TV pilot of Aquaman and the 2011 reboot of Charlie's Angels.
2nd Logo (November 15, 2015-)
Logo: On a black background, we see the stacked words "MILLAR GOUGH". To the right is a red beaker with a big black water-drop in it. Inside the water-drop is "INK".
Technique: None.
Music/Sounds: None, or the ending theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on Into the Badlands, The Shannara Chronicles and Wednesday.
