Mindless Entertainment was formed in 1997 by Mark Cronin. In 2004, Cronin merged his company with Cris Abrego's 51 Pictures to form "51 Minds Entertainment".
Logo (June 7, 1999-May 26, 2008)
Visuals: On a white background, an odd brain-like scribble shape zooms in and spins clockwise with four different frames on the left side, while the word "Mindless" appears letter-by-letter and "Entertainment" flies in from the left.
Later Variant: In 2004, the logo was recreated with a couple of changes: the scribble only has three frames, zooms in much faster and zooms out slightly, and the words form quicker, with "Entertainment" slightly bigger and aligned with "Mindless" and appearing letter-by-letter, just like "Mindless".
- This variant usually appears (albeit shortened) without a VH1 logo on VH1 shows with that, but a sped-up full version is used with a VH1 logo, and sometimes without it.
Technique: 2D digital animation.
Audio: The muffled sound of a horn (which sounds more like someone farting, a chicken clucking/rooster crowing or a kazoo) that plays three notes and later holds a fourth note in a crazed, noisy fashion. On Cram, the end title theme of the show plays over the logo while the logo theme is playing.
Availability: It was seen on Cram, The X Show, Hurt Bert, Beat the Geeks, The Surreal Life, My Fair Brady, and The Flavor of Love 2. It was last spotted on TV Guide Network (now Pop) when they reran The Flavor of Love. Also used during the first four years under 51 Minds Entertainment.
