Monarch Home Video
Background
Was formerly a division of Prism Entertainment before becoming its own company.
1st Logo (1988?-1998)
Logo: In blackness, we see "MONARCH" in a fancy, thick blue font flip up and down toward the center of the screen. Once in place, a yellow line draws itself under and "HOME VIDEO" fades in underneath the line.
FX/SFX: The text spinning/appearing, the line drawing.
Music/Sounds: Synth whooshes for "MONARCH" and the yellow line, with a deep hum/rumble.
Availability: Seen on VHS tapes from the company like Wishman, The Phone Call, The Refrigerator, Demon Warrior and Double Identity, among others.
Legacy: The whooshes might give people the creeps, but other than that, a pretty good but basic logo.
2nd Logo (1996-2000's)
Logo: We start on a blue background, which appears to be a zooming oval with golden crown inside. It zooms into the cloudy sky background, and "MONARCH" fades below starting from the left. The logo shines, and a star pings above the golden crown.
FX/SFX: The zooming and name wiping. Decent animation for the late 90s.
Music/Sounds: Wind chimes with a synth bass note followed by two trumpet note and pings.
Availability: Very rare. Was seen on VHS and DVDs of little-known films, such as Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders, which are hard to find now.
Legacy: This logo is calm and great.
3rd Logo (2000s-)
Logo: A blue oval banner zooms in rotating over a waving dark blue background. The oval, depicting a cut-out crown, stops at the center and the name "MONARCH" fades in below, extending until it fades back off, and the whole logo fades soon.
FX/SFX: The animation.
Music/Sounds: Apparently none.
Availability: Current. It was seen on a DVD of Few Options, released in 2012.
