Mulberry Square Productions was a production company founded by Joe Camp during production of Benji to help finance the film after every Hollywood studio refused to distribute it. The company remained active until Camp retired from film and television after the release of Benji: Off the Leash!; he died at 84 on March 15, 2024.
1st Logo (October 17, 1974-March 26, 2004)
Visuals: There is a worn out sign hanging in front of a morning sky with some trees. "mulberry" and "square" are stacked to one another both in a Blippo Black font on an oval with a border and ornament on top. Underneath is "PRODUCTIONS" on a banner with borders at the top and bottom along with another ornament. "presents" fades in below in a similar font in white. The logo and "presents" fade way being replaced with additional text saying "a family film by joe camp" in the same font as before.
Variants:
- On Hawmps!, the logo has become more rusty, has swirls at the top and bottom and is somewhat far away on a desert background.
- From 1979-2004, the logo appears in-credit.
Technique: Fading effects.
Audio: Birds chirping in the background for the original variant. None for the second variant. For the in-credit variants, the closing theme.
Audio Variant: The music for the next logo was used in the Benji, Zax & the Alien Prince episode, "Don't Fence Me In".
Availability: Seen on various Benji films and specials throughout the company's lifespan, as well as the first six episodes and episode ten of Benji, Zax & the Alien Prince.
2nd Logo (October 29-December 17, 1983)
Visuals: At the end of the closing credits, the Mulberry Square logo suddenly zooms out towards the screen. It is now in CGI with the oval in dark teal, the border, ornaments, and banner in silver, "mulberry square" in white, and "PRODUCTIONS" in black.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A distorted four-note synthesized tune.
Availability: Seen on episodes 7-9 and 11-13 of Benji, Zax & the Alien Prince.
