Background

In 1994, video game developers Erick S. Dyke, Dan O'Leary and Sean Purcell founded n-Space in 1994 with the help of funding from Sony Computer Entertainment of America, with its first game being Tigershark for Microsoft Windows and the PlayStation. n-Space would exclusively publish games for the aforementioned platforms until 2002. With their last game being Sword Coast Legends, n-Space would later be closed down in March 22, 2016.

1st Logo (May 1997-October 25, 2000 [main logo]; 2001-2013 [variants])

Logo:

  • Original Logo: On a space background, we zoom in through multiple purple and blue rotating nebulas. Then, we zoom out of the letter "n", in white, to reveal a golden box surrounding it, with the words "SPACE" in black. A white line (which looks similar to the Milky Way) then fades in the background.
  • The layout for many of its variants would have a square with the letter "n" printed on it. The word "SPACE" is below the logo.

Variants:

  • On Danger Girl, the logo's animation is replaced with an electrical ripple effect. The URL "www.n-space.com" is seen below.
  • On Mary-Kate and Ashley: Crush Course, the logo is orange and is set on an orange galaxy background.
  • On Hanna Montana: The Movie for the Wii, the logo is black and zooms in front of the screen. It then turns '3D'.
  • On Target Toss Pro: Bags, the logo is printed on a blue bean bag, which is placed on a wooden floor.
  • On Call of Duty: Black Ops for the Nintendo DS, the logo is placed on a stamp that is placed on a green surface.
  • On Goldeneye 007 for the Nintendo DS, the logo is on a metallic wall.
  • On Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance, the logo is on a green background, and is slanted. Everything is in a computer-like theme
  • On Heroes to Ruin, the logo is dilapidated on a black background with smoke.
  • On Tron: Evolutions, the logo is blue.
  • On the 3DS ports of Skylanders: Giants and Skylanders: Swap Force, the logo is white. It is behind a set of moving clouds.

Technique: The nebulas and the logo zooming out. Decent CGI for its time. None for most of the variants.

Music/Sounds: A set of synth bell chimes, ending with a xylophone-esque chime. The Danger Girl variant used an electric sound effect. The other variants are silent.

Availability: Scarce for the original logo, but common for the variants. The standard logo was first seen on Tigershark. It then appeared on BugRiders: The Race of Kings, Duke Nukem: Time to Kill, Rugrats: Search for Reptar, Rugrats: Studio Tour, Die Hard Trilogy 2: Viva Las Vegas and Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes. It made its last appearance on Mary-Kate and Ashley: Magical Mystery Mall. The variants can be seen on the aforementioned games.

2nd Logo (November 18, 2002-May 7, 2007)

Logo: On a white background, we see a orange square in the shape of a TV monitor, with the letter "n" in purple. This square is connected to a purple box via a spring, which contains the word "space" in orange.

Technique: A 'peel' transition effect. None in Winx Club: Join the Club.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on only 2 games, those being Mary-Kate and Ashley: Sweet 16 - Licensed to Drive and Winx Club: Join the Club.

3rd Logo (August 15, 2005-November 2, 2010)

Logo: On a black background, we see a black box with a blue light surrounding it. Inside the box is the letter "n" in light blue. Below it is the word "SPACE" in a grungy white font.

Variants:

  • The logo was seen in multiple colors:
    • On 007: Bloodstone for the DS, the logo is in a different shade of blue.
    • On Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized for the DS, the logo is colored green.
    • On Marvel: Ultimate Aliance 2 for the DS, the logo is colored red.
    • On Call of Duty: World at War for the DS, the logo is colored gold.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Common. First seen on Geist. It was seen on all of their DS ports of various games, including their Call of Duty DS ports.

4th Logo (October 20, 2015)

Logo: On a black background with what seems to be an orange light coming from fire, we see the new n-Space logo, which consists of a hexagon with 2 of its lines disconnecting from the shape, forming an S. The words "N > SPACE" is below the shape. The logo slowly zooms in.

Technique: The light pulsating and the logo zooming in.

Music/Sounds: Just the sounds of wind.

Availability: Was only seen on Sword Coast Legends, which was the company's final game.
