Logo (December 10, 1965-July 26, 1974)

Visuals: There is an image of the Ashoka Chakra's design over a wall (which varies in style depending on the film). On top of it is "nalanda" in a Sanskrit-like font with "PRESENTS".

Variants:

  • An early version exists where the text is sculpted underneath the Chakra and a white "PRESENTS" sits below the text.
  • In Prem Shastra, the text is seen arching around the top portion of the Chakra.

Technique: Chroma-keyed effects.

Audio: A gong at the beginning of the logo, followed by an Indian string fanfare with some notes on a swarmandal at the end.

Audio Variant: The early version uses two bell gongs.

Availability: Seen on Gambler while the early version is seen in Teen Devian. It was also seen in Prem Shastra.

2nd Logo (May 6, 1981-September 28, 1984)

Visuals: The logo essentially consists of a modeled replica of the Ashoka Chakra with the company name above it in red and in a similar font style against a black wall.

Technique: None.

Audio: A gentle string and piano piece that starts with an ascending swarmandal glissando.

Audio Variant: On Rocky, none.

Availability: Seen in Rocky and Sunny.
