Background

Nassour Studios Inc. was an independent production company formed by producer Edward Nassour.

Logo (May 27, 1949)

Visuals: Against a night sky, the words ‘NASSOUR STUDIOS’ are seen stacked on a basic rectangular plinth with a carved line separating the two. In front of the text is the eponymous Nassour Studios itself, with several searchlights scanning the stack behind it.

Trivia: This logo is a blatantly obvious parody of the 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios) logo from the same time period.

Variant: On colorized prints of Abbott and Costello in Africa Screams, the Nassour Studios stack is yellow, presumably to mimic the 20th Century Fox logo a little more.

Technique: Traditional animation.

Audio: A horn fanfare reminiscent of the Fox fanfare.

Availability: The only known film this was found on was Abbott and Costello in Africa Screams.
