Background

Natsume Inc. was originally the American subsidiary of the Japanese Natsume, but starting in 1995, it became an independent company from the original Natsume, keeping the 1990-1998 Japanese Natsume logo. In 2013, the company had set up its division Natsume Inc. Japan to handle localization of Japanese games.

Logo (July 1992-)

Visuals: On a white, black, or a customized background, there is a purple box with the post-1990 Natsume logo inside. Below it is the text "Serious Fun".

Variants:

  • On Action in New York, the logo is paired with the Infogrames logo.
  • An earlier version of the logo exists where the slogan is absent.
  • On Ohimesama Debut for Nintendo DS, the logo is superimposed onto the staff credits.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None or the opening/closing theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on virtually all Natsume games from the era starting with Spanky's Quest for Super NES, with the standard logo making its debut on Pocky & Rocky for SNES.
