Network Entertainment

Background

Network Entertainment was an independent Australian video distributor that existed until 2000 when they folded into Magna Pacific (now Beyond Home Entertainment).

1st Logo (Early 1990s-1995)

Logo: On a black background, we see a golden star on the blue granite circle bordered by the silver ring with the black arched words "NETWORK" and "ENTERTAINMENT" embossed on above and below, respectively.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on early tapes released by the company, such as the GeoKids tapes. It may or may not have been seen on the 1992 VHS of Charlotte's Web.

2nd Logo (1995-1997)

Logo: On a foggy blue-purple background, the light blue star shines in the middle, while the surrounding stars slowly fly towards the viewer. After that, the light blue flies towards the viewer and stops at its own comfortable distance, revealing that is a gold star, then the jungle green granite circle with the star cot-out zooms out, fitting the star in, while thesilver ring with the same arched words zooms out, fitting the circle. The star and the granite area shine afterwards.

Technique: The star, formation of the logo. Not bad animation.

Music/Sounds: A synthesized flute arpeggio (just like the one from the 5th Louisiana Public Broadcasting logo, but extended; perhaps it's library music or a synth patch) with a descending loud whoosh. This is followed by a 5-note orchestral rock fanfare, and some chimes at the end.

Availability: Seen on Monica's House, What-A-Mess, and other old Australian tapes.

3rd Logo (1997-2000)

Logo: In the starfield with blue nebulas, a golden 5-pointed flash of light forming a gold star moving to the top-left, leaving fiery and sparkly trails, while we aim the camera at the star, until it places to the center of the screen, while the silver ring with the same arched words and the light blue granite circle with the star cot-out revolving around, flies in, fitting the star in, letting out sparks and embers.

Technique: The CGI animation used here is better than before.

Music/Sounds: The same music from before, but with an ascending whoosh.

Availability: See the previous logo. It also shows up on the Late 90's-Early 2000's Magna Pacific VHS release of Dances With Wolves, instead of the usual Magna Pacific logo of the time.
