m TheLogoFan2004 moved page Wii (Warning Screen) to Nintendo (Warning Screen): since this warning screen first appeared on all 2004 Nintendo releases (sans DS titles) im changing it so it could reflect the warning screens used for GC, GBA & Wii and not just the Wii.

Screen (April 29, 2004-November 13, 2017)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the text "WARNING-HEALTH AND SAFETY" in white. Below them is "BEFORE PLAYING, READ YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS BOOKLET FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY." Below that is the text "To get a copy call 1-800-255-3700 or go online at". with the url "www.nintendo.com/healthsafety/". Below that is "Press any button to continue.", which fades in and out.

Variants:

  • On some GameCube games, the letter "B" in the word "button" is capitalized.
  • On later Game Boy Advance titles, the background is in white with the text being in black, the hotline number is also removed.
  • Later first-party GameCube titles also have the hotline number removed with the description being altered.
  • In Japan, the text is translated into Japanese and "www.nintendo.com/healthsafety/" is replaced with "www.nintendo.co.jp/anzen/".
  • In some regions, the URL is in grayish-blue.
  • On European/Australian prints of Nintendo GameCube titles as well as all PAL Wii models, the "warning" icon is yellow and the URL is in blue. The message is otherwise the same, but the description on the bottom was changed to "TO GET AN EXTRA COPY, CALL YOUR NEAREST NINTENDO SERVICE CENTRE OR GO ONLINE AT" with the URL being changed to "www.nintendo-europe.com/consumerinformation/".
  • On all Wii models. "HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS BOOKLET" is replaced with "OPERATIONS MANUAL", "TO GET AN EXTRA COPY FOR YOUR REGION, GO ONLINE AT" is replaced with "Also online at", and "Press any button to continue" is replaced with "Press A to continue". The "A" is inside a circle, to mimic the A button on a Wii Remote. When the button is pressed, the screen fades out, transitioning to the Wii Menu.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: None. A light synth tune on the Wii Menu that follows the warning screen.

Audio Variants:

  • On all Wii models, when pressing the A button to advance to the Wii Menu, a laser-like sound is heard.
  • On the Nintendo GameCube version of Pikmin 2, the sound when you press a button in said game can be heard.

Availability:

  • The standard versions can be seen directly after the console's startup sequence when booting some later first-party Nintendo GameCube titles, such as Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Pikmin 2, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Mario Superstar Baseball as well as all later Game Boy Advance titles. Both versions can be seen if you play one of these games on a Nintendo DS (or DS lite) or a backwards compatible Wii, with the Nintendo DS boot-up screen/Wii version of the warning screen appearing at boot, and the Game Boy Advance/Nintendo GameCube version appearing upon launching the game.
  • The Wii versions are seen immediately upon booting a Wii console or a Wii U when in Wii mode.
