Background

Nuyorican Productions is an American production company founded in 2001 by Jennifer Lopez and Benny Medina. The company didn't produce a show until 2006 when South Beach premiered. The name "Nuyorican" reflects Lopez's Puerto Rican heritage and her upbringing in New York. In other words, the name is a portmanteau of "New York" and "Puerto Rican".

Logo (January 11, 2006-)

Visuals: On a white background, with a square outline, there is a replica of the Empire State Building with a palm tree in front of it. Below the picture is the word "NUYORICAN" and the spaced out "PRODUCTIONS" below that.

Variants:

  • Starting in 2011, the whole logo is in shiny silver and appears in CGI within a grey and black background, also the logo shines in this version.
  • Sometimes, this logo can be shared with other logos.
  • A still version exists.
  • Starting with the 2019 film Hustlers, the font and the animation are enhanced.

Technique: A still, digital graphic. CGI for the animated version.

Audio: An intense conga drum theme by Kim Burse, the closing theme of the show, or none.
