Background
ORF 1 is the primary channel from the Austrian public broadcaster ORF.
1st Logo (1979-1987)
Logo: On a black background, we see an orange segmented number 1 on the right side of the screen.
Variant: Starting in 1984, the 1 has fewer segments and has a drop shadow behind it.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Extinct.
2nd Logo (1987-1990)
Logo: On a blue background, we see two yellow shapes fly onto the right side of the screen and create the segmented 1 from before. The ORF logo of the time fades in in the top corner.
FX/SFX: Very simple CGI, but acceptable for the time period.
Music/Sounds: A majestic fanfare.
Availability: Extinct.
3rd Logo (1990-1992)
Logo: Same as before, but this time the background is black, the 1 is made of glass, the ORF logo is updated to have the eye symbol and the logo is still.
FX/SFX: Just the fading in and out.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Extinct.
4th Logo (1992-2000)
Logo: On a blue background, we see shadows of the ORF eye symbol and the number 1 rotating. A rectangle with "ORF 1" fades in, with "1" in a chartreuse box.
FX/SFX: The shadows.
Music/Sounds: An abridged version of the Zeit im Bild theme.
Availability: Extinct.
5th Logo (2000-2007)
Logo: On a cloudy white background, we see a lime square with a hole shaped like the number 1 move around.
Variants: The break bumpers have people doing various activities beside the 1 square.
FX/SFX: CGI. A mix of both CGI and live-action for the break bumpers.
Music/Sounds: A drum and bass theme. Sometimes has a friendly-sounding six-note synth tune.
Availability: Extinct.
6th Logo (2007-2011)
Logo: Same as before, but on a futuristic lime background.
Variants: For the break bumper, the 1 square is beside a trail with the word "W E R B U N G". The camera pans to the trail, and another square passes through the trail, shrinking it in the process
FX/SFX: CGI. A mix of both CGI and live-action for the break bumpers.
Music/Sounds: A futuristic new-age theme.
Availability: Extinct.
Legacy: These idents seem to follow computer design trends of the time, and would not feel out of place with the XBOX 360 design language.
