Background

Objective Media Group (formerly Objective Productions), sometimes abbreviated as OMG, is an independent television production company based in London, England and Los Angeles, California, producing shows in the genres of comedy, comedy drama, entertainment, factual entertainment and magic. It was founded in 1991 and is currently owned by All3Media which brought this company in 2007.


Objective Productions

1st Logo (5 August 1996-2003)

Visuals: On a marble background, there's a logo similar to that of Bright-Kauffman-Crane Productions, but the word reads "Objective", and the red oval has "productions" in a different script font inside.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is in a box.
  • Sometimes, the word "an" is added above and "production" replaces "productions" on the oval.
  • On Extreme Magic, Extreme Danger, the logo is above the 1996 LWT logo, with the text reading "An Objective/LWT Productions Co Production" which appears below.
  • On the first season of Peep Show (its first scripted series), the logo is next to the 1999 Channel 4 "Square" logo.
  • On 13 Keys, it shares the screen with the Crook Productions and Channel 5 logos.
  • On The Alphabet Game, the full-screen logo has the 1988 BBC logo underneath and flies from the left.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The closing theme.

Availability: It first debuted on its first programme The Alphabet Game, then it later appeared on Meet the Challenge, Extreme Magic, Extreme Danger, Secrets of Magic, 13 Keys and The Quick Trick Show. It also appeared on its scripted shows Peep Show and Bedsticom.

2nd Logo (5 October 2003-2016)


Visuals: Over a dark green or black background, there's the same text "OBJECTIVE PRODUCTIONS" now in a weird different font.

Bylines: Starting in 2008, the byline was added.

  • 2008-2014: "anALL3MEDIA company" with the corporate logo and three dots at the top.
  • 2014-2016: "anall3mediacompany" now in its then current font, sometimes its in white.

Variants:

  • Both a superimposed and split-screen variant exists.
  • A different background may be used on some shows.
  • For shows that were produced in Scotland, the word "SCOTLAND" replaces "PRODUCTIONS".
  • Sometimes, this logo shares the screen with other logos.
  • An early variant has the logo squished.
  • Starting in 2014, a different animation is used. Here, some blue and red spotlights with sparkles form the word "OBJECTIVE" and then, the text "PRODUCTIONS" appears forming one letter at a time with the All3Media byline animated as well. Finally, the whole logo shines.
  • On shows produced in the United States, the word "USA" appears next to "PRODUCTIONS".

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: Usually the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Can be seen on then-current and then-news shows from this period until 2016 such as Dirty Tricks and later Peep Show seasons, among others.

3rd Logo (12 November-17 December 2004)

Visuals: Basically, the white stacked text "OBJECTIVE productions" placed over the show's closing credits.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on season 2 of Peep Show.

Logo (2017- )


Visuals: Over a black background, there's the text "OBJECTVE MEDIA GROUP" stacked up and the letters "O", "M" and "G" are in orange.

Bylines:

  • 2016-2021: "anall3mediacompany" in the same font as the third logo.
  • 2021-: "An All3Media company" now stacked with the new All3Media logo on the left with the vertical line on the middle.
  • 2021-: "Part of All3Media group" depending on the subsidiary they use.

Variants:

  • For shows that were produced in Scotland or Manchester, there is a grey line below the logo and either "SCOTLAND" or "NORTH" is seen in the same colour on the bottom.
  • On shows produced in the United States, an animated version of this logo is shown here we see the orange lines then a grey line appears which the three orange lines then rotates to reveal the same letters and the text above and below has "AMERICA" in the same colour as the logo.
  • A similar version exists on season 1 of Lingo, where the word "NORTH" appears with the byline.
  • Sometimes, this logo also shares with other logos (including the 2013 ITV logo).
  • On season 1 of 12 Dates of Christmas, the logo is squished.
  • On The Million Pound Cube, the logo is in a grey background with the Wildcard Television logo appearing at the top.
  • On The Larkins, the logo is smaller and next to the Objective Fiction logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None or the ending theme of the show.

Audio Variants:

  • On Flirty Dancing USA, the All3Media theme is used.
  • On season 1 of 12 Dates of Christmas, the same All3Media theme is used but in a different pitch and sped-up.

Availability: Appears on all of its shows that their labels produced from 2016 onwards.

  • The "SCOTLAND" version appears on shows that were produced in Scotland such as The Larkins and Last Commanders.
  • The "AMERICA" variation appears on shows that were produced in the United States such as 12 Dates of Christmas and the American version of The Cube.
  • The "NORTH" variant was so far seen on Saving Our Nurses and the British reboot of Lingo.
