Background

Open Mind Productions is a British television production company founded on 1 June 1989 by Roland Tongue and Chris Ellis.

Logo (1993-2009)

Visuals: On a customized or black background, there is a blue head, with it's top being separated from the rest of the head. In between the head are the words "OPEN" and "MIND". Under them is the word "PRODUCTIONS".

Variants:

  • An early version exists where text "An Open Mind Production" is seen below the head.
  • There is a version where the word "An" is seen on the top of the head and the text under the head and below it now reads "PRODUCTION".

Technique: None. [possible misuse]

Audio: The ending theme of the show.

Audio Variants:

  • On some episodes of The Shiny Show, it's silent (because the full closing theme plays only on the show's credits and then a short sequence from the show came before the logo appears).
    • On the season one episode "Fire Station", the fire engine sound was heard during the closing theme.
    • On the season one episode "Fun in the Fair", the funfair music plays throughout the credits.
    • On the season two episode "Cheesemaking", the last part of the closing theme plays after the sequence that interrupts the credits (similar to "Hairdressers").
      • On Polish prints of that episode, there is a Polish voice-over after the closing theme.
  • On Ready Set Learn, the announcer was heard while the instrumental version of The Paz Show theme plays.
  • On the Numberjacks season two episode "Counting Down to Christmas", an ominous bell note plays over the closing theme's last note.

Availability: Appears on The Number Crew, Rat-A-Tat-Tat, The Word Machine, Maths Mansion, The Shiny Show, Paz and Numberjacks.
