1st (known) Logo (Mid 1980's‐1987?)

Logo: On a black background, a circle spins in from the center of the logo. It's blue, green, and red with a white emblem resembling a stylized P. When it settles down in the middle of the screen, the silver words "PACK-IN" and "VIDEO" crawl from the top right and bottom left of the screen (respectively) and settle down above and below the circle.

Variant: After the VHD logo, we rotates into a said logo all in white.

Technique: Simplistic 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Rare. Appears on some Japanese VHS tapes, including Mutant Hunt and Vicious Lips.

2nd Logo (1987?-1994)

Logo: On a light blue background, three pieces of metal (one red, one green, and one blue) rotate in a glass prism that is above water, while two glass sheets with the words "PACK-IN" and "VIDEO" etched in them rotate around the prism. The three pieces of metal settle down, making the Pack-In-Video emblem (the circle described in the previous logo), and the water below ripples. Then, the glass sheets move up in front of the prism, causing a ripple effect, which becomes water, and the glass sheets settle down in the middle. The finished logo ripples and shines a bit.

Technique: Advanced 80s CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: A calming, dreamy synth tune.

Availability: Uncommon. Appears on many Japanese VHS tapes from the label spanning many genres, including Freakshow (1989).

3rd Logo (March 20, 1994)

Logo: On a black background, we see the emblem from the previous two logos with the stylized P in golden. Below we see "PACK-IN-VIDEO" in yellow with a shadow.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on the 3DO title Yamamura Misa Suspense.

4th Logo (1994-1997)

Logo: On a black background, we see the stacked text "PACK IN VIDEO" in red or yellow.

Variant: 3DO games have the logo with the 3DO Company logo next to it.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None, or the opening theme.

Availability: Seen mainly on SNES titles and a few Saturn games. The 3DO appears on Nishimura Kyoutarou Travel Mystery and Iida Joji Nightmare Interactive.
