Background

Palcom Software is a label used by Konami to release games for the PAL market, in a similar manner to the Ultra Games label it was operating from 1990 to 1994, used to publish not only NES and Game Boy titles, but also SNES titles in the region.

Logo (August 17, 1990-1994)

Visuals: Over a black background is the text "PALCOM" and underneath that is the text "SOFTWARE" down below the logo on the bottom right.

Variants:

  • On Game Boy, trademark information is shown below the logo.
  • On SNES games, the text is white and has a red shadow.

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on European NES, SNES and Game Boy titles from the era, such as Formula 1 Sensation, Sunset Riders, Cybernator, Pop 'n TwinBee, Blades of Steel and Skate or Die: Bad 'n Rad.
