Background

Palestine TV (تلفزيون فلسطين) is a Palestinian television channel that forms a part of the Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation, which is within the jurisdiction of the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority, with offices in Ramallah and Gaza. It is the national and publicly-owned TV broadcaster of the State of Palestine. Palestine TV's programming consists of mostly news programs and messaging that promotes the Palestinian Authority's perspective in the West Bank.

1st ID (1990s)

Visuals: A 20th Century Fox-styled structure is seen in the shape of the Dome of the Rock with the colors of the Palestinian flag. The "dome" is "ف" in red. Searchlights are seen moving around the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A patriotic fanfare.

2nd ID (2015-2019)

Visuals: On a white background with blurry lights, gold and white strings are seen being sewn. A gold ring is then seen, with a golden dome forming and emerging out of it. Golden cubes then appear forming a bigger dome (The Dome of the Rock). A crescent attaches itself on the Dome of the Rock. The Dome rotates, then zooms back, revealing the text "فلسطين" in white below it, with the Dome in place of "ط". After the logo zooms back, an explosion of light occurs behind it as the white background wipes away to reveal a cloudy landscape with a ground made of carpet. "هنا باقون" appears below the logo.

Variants:

  • A later version features a slightly different landscape at the end. "هنا باقون" is also positioned differently.
  • Live-action variants feature shots of Palestinian cities, landscapes and people followed by the Palestine TV logo animating at a corner of the screen, with the same light explosion animation used in the main ident.

Technique: CGI by New Dimension Productions.

Audio: A cinematic tune with strings.

3rd ID (Mid-January 2019-)

Visuals: The ident opens with an animated slideshow with "cut-outs" of a Palestinian mother and her daughter, a shot of the interior of a mosque, then a panning shot of the Dome of the Rock. The Palestine TV logo in a flatter design than before animates and glows at the center of the screen. The backdrop fades to a gradient blue background with scrolling Islamic geometric patterns.

Variants: There are different live-action versions of this ID, but all have the same premise: we see camera shots of various Palestinian landmarks and cities, such as the Dome of the Rock. The Palestine TV logo then forms on the bottom left corner of the screen in the same way as the generic ident.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A traditional Middle Eastern tune.
