Background

Paradox was a Russian pirate video game publisher that released translated games for the PS1 and Dreamcast consoles in Russia. At the time, there were no official Russian translations of videogames.

Logo (Late 1990's-Early 2000's)


Visuals: A dark planet scrolls to the right, revealing the Sun in the center and the back of the logo. As the camera turns around to face the logo and the planet, the Sun leaves the screen and the logo, consisting of the "P" from the official Sony PS logo followed by "ARADOX" wrapped around the right side of said letter, is shown. Likewise, the planet is revealed to be the Earth. Behind the logo, "PRESENTS" in Russian and white flies in and rests underneath the logo while the Earth moves away from the screen.

Variant: A still version exists.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Several space wind and ambience sounds throughout. Later on, a rhythmic set of xylophone-like notes are played.

Audio Trivia: Roland D-50's "Digital Native Dance" preset is used.

Audio Variant: Rare variants that replace the official PlayStation boot logo feature the same sound as the original logo.

Availability: Seen on some Russian translated games released by Paradox such as The Simpsons Wrestling and Syphon Filter 3.
