Background

This was a production company by James D. Parriott. This company only made four shows: Voyagers! in 1982, Misfits of Science in 1985, and came back in 1996 to make Matt Waters and Rag And Bone. James D. Parriott would later found Parriott.

1st Logo (October 3, 1982-July 10, 1983)

Visuals: On a black background, there are the letters, in white,

in the middle, in a Courier New font. Then, an exclamation mark fades in at the end of Productions.

Technique: Fading effects.

Audio: The ending theme of Voyagers!.

Availability: It was only seen on Voyagers!, which has not been seen on TV for many years. This logo is intact on DVDs of the said show.

2nd Logo (October 4, 1985-February 21, 1986)

Visuals: On a black background is James D. Parriott Productions in pink and in Mistral font (also used on the Night Court logo).

Variants:

  • Depending on the print quality, the logo color may appear as white.
  • On the episode "Sonar... and Yet So Far", the logo is placed in the background of the credits.
  • On the final episode "Three Days of the Blender", the logo is superimposed into the footage.
  • There is one variant where it starts with lightning bolts striking three times, and then the logo appears.

Technique: A still digital image.

Audio: A female voice says: "Good night, bunnies!". The first two episodes of the show has the logo silent.

Availability: Last seen on Misfits of Science, of which was last seen on TV Land in the early 2000s.

3rd Logo (January 3-February 7, 1996)

Visuals: Inside the hallway is the man far away, turning off the lights. The words read:

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: The closing theme, or a generic CBS theme on original airings.

Availability: Seen on Matt Waters.

Parriot/Edelstein Productions

4th Logo (August 2-October 23, 2009)


Visuals: On a black and brown like gradient background accompanied with a little light, there is a corn kernel shaking and levitating. Then, the kernel transforms into a piece of popcorn, with the words "Parriott / Edelstein" in yellow, popping out at the same time.

Technique: Live action.

Audio: A voice struggling while the corn kernel is levitating, then does a sigh of relief when the kernel becomes a piece of popcorn.

Audio Variants:

  • ABC airings of Defying Gravity use a generic theme and a voiceover.

Availability: This was short-lived. The logo was only seen on the first season of Defying Gravity.
