Background

Pendulo Studios S.L. is a Madrid-based video game developer founded in 1993 by Ramón Hernáez, Felipe Gómez Pinilla, Rafael Latiegui and Miguel Angel Ramos. Since the company's 1994 debut project, Igor: Objective Uikokahonia, it has specialized in graphic adventure games.

1st Logo (1994)

Logo: A filmstrip is seen against a cerise background with a shadow below. The word "PENDULO" is written in the frames. Under each letter, "STUDIOS" is shown in really small font.

Technique: None.

Audio: None.

Availability: Can be found on Igor, but newer releases have the 2nd logo intact.

2nd Logo (1997)

Logo: On a black background, we see "Péndulo Studios", which is written below an orange stick figure with outstretched limbs.

Technique: None.

Audio: None.

Availability: Can be seen on newer releases of Igor. Probably appeared on original Hollywood Monsters.

3rd Logo (1997-2001)

Logo: A usual stick figure is being drawn by a light spark, ending on the right hand. After drawing, a teal box appears around the picture with the company name below in white, relief font.

Technique: Moving spark.

Variant: Still form is used on the worldwide releases and later re-releases of Hollywood Monsters (originally it was on Spanish).

Audio: Ambient soundtrack and several sweeping sounds.

Availability: Can be seen on Runaway: A Road Adventure and Hollywood Monsters.

4th Logo (2001)

Logo: A teal frame flies from the background, rotate and place itself in the screen. Inside a black box, we see the same picture as was used in 1995 with a light on the hand. The letters of company name sweep to their places, leaving traces.

Technique: The moving box and sweeping letters.

Audio: Ambient sounds.

Availability: Can be seen on the demo version of Runaway: A Road Adventure.

5th Logo (2006)

Logo: The same drawing as before, but while the spark draws its picture, the letters rotate from borders to full face, one after other. The "STUDIOS" rotate after "PENDULO", showing no box this time.

Variant: On the DS version of Runaway 2, the company name is written in one line on a dark cyan bar. Also, the logo is still.

Technique: Simple but effective animation.

Audio: Background UFO-style noise and creaking, ending with a single whoosh.

Availability: Can be seen on Runaway 2.

6th Logo (2010-)

Logo: The name appears over the moving multicolored background and lights in white. Then the BG clears and the name loses focus.

Technique: Simple but effective animation.

Audio: Background UFO-style noise and creaking, ending with a single whoosh.

Availability: Can be seen on Runaway: A Twist of Fate and The Next Big Thing.
