Background
Petróleo Brasileiro S.A., better known by the acronym Petrobras, is a state-owned Brazilian multinational corporation in the petroleum industry headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The corporation has not just also been involved in the petroleum industry, but also in film and television, such as the Petrobras Cultural Program (Programa Petrobras Cultural).
1st Logo (2003?-)
Visuals: On a black background, the Petrobras logo (a green box with "BR" in it and a gold separated by a white line and border with "PETROBRAS" below) is seen. Below is the text "Este filme for selecionado pelo Programa Petrobras Cultural".
Technique: A still, digital graphic.
Audio: None or the opening theme of the movie.
Availability: Seen on films such as O Homem Que Copiava and O Casamento de Romeu e Julieta.
2nd Logo (October 5, 2007-)
Visuals: On a black background, a silver horizontal Petrobras logo flies in from the upper right corner. It then centers as it becomes flatter and "Apresenta" fades in below. The logo then slowly zooms in.
Variant: A short version exists.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: None.
Availability: Used in tandem with the previous logo. It can be seen on Elite Squad, which was distributed in the US by The Weinstein Company, whose logo plasters the 2007 Universal logo on its original Brazilian release, and on the 2010 restoration of the 1971 film How Tasty Was My Little Frenchman (Como Era Gostoso o Meu Francês).
