Approved draft, however, dates when the films officially premiered in their native country should be in the logo's lifespan per the tutorial. Earlier release dates such as those in film festivals may lack evidence if the logo actually did appear during said date.

Background

Pixar RenderMan (formerly PhotoRealistic RenderMan) is proprietary photorealistic 3D rendering software produced by Pixar Animation Studios. Pixar uses RenderMan to render their in-house 3D animated movie productions and it is also available as a commercial product licensed to third parties. In 2015, a free non-commercial version of RenderMan became available.

1st Logo (November 5, 2004-June 21, 2013)

Visuals: There is an bouncing ball leaving over trails. On the right of the symbol is the Pixar logo on top of the text "RenderMan". There is an trademark symbol on the top right of the logo.


Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the movie.

Availability:

  • The logo appeared on The Incredibles, Cars, and later reappeared on Brave and Monsters University.
  • This logo also appeared on two Vanguard Animation films, Valiant (their first film) and Space Chimps.

2nd Logo (June 19, 2015-)

Visuals: There is the caption "rendered with". Under the caption is the bold letters "RENDERMAN". There is an trademark symbol on the bottom right of the logo.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: The closing theme of the movie.

Availability: Debuted on Inside Out, and has appeared on every Pixar film since then.
