Not to be confused with PlayStation Originals and PlayStation Studios.

Background

PlayStation Productions, LLC (formerly known as PlayStation Originals) is an American production studio owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was founded in 2019 with a focus on adapting the company's video game franchises into films and television shows. An emphasis was placed on coordination between the film and television departments at Sony Pictures with the video game development studios at PlayStation Studios.

(2021-)

Logo: On a black background, a blue triangular symbol (similar to that of a play button) fades in and makes several trails coming out in the same color, revealing part of Kara from Detroit: Become Human. Then we cut to the Leviathan Axe from God of War, as many circle trail-like things surround it as the camera slowly backs away. Then we cut to Nathan Drake from Uncharted, followed by a closeup of Jin's face from Ghost of Tsushima and Joel and Ellie with their backs away from each other; from The Last of Us. Then it cuts to Kratos and Atreus from God of War, followed by a Playroom robot, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, Ratchet and Clank, Sackboy, and a closeup of Kratos, until we cut to a shot of many PlayStation characters together as the camera zooms in. It then dies down into a blue flash as the corporate PlayStation logo forms from various light streaks, which then dies down as "PlayStation" in its corporate font fades in below, with "PRODUCTIONS" in a more basic font.

Variant: Trailers have this logo shortened.

FX/SFX: Amazing CGI.

Music/Sounds: A majestic orchestral fanfare which rises higher; coupled with a somber piano theme. Trailers have the opening theme instead.

Availability: Brand new and current. First seen on the trailers for Uncharted (2022), and made its debut on the film itself. Also seen in a post on the official PlayStation Twitter account. It is expected to appear on future films and TV series from the company.

Editor's Note: None.
