Background
The Pokémon mini was a short-lived handheld console designed and manufactured by The Pokémon Company in association with Nintendo. The handheld was the first and only handheld to be based around the Pokémon franchise and was first released in North America (via Pokémon USA, when it was sold as a Pokémon Center exclusive) on November 16, 2001 and in Japan (via TPC) that same year. The following year, it debuted in Europe and Australia (via Nintendo).
