Background

The Polish Film Institute is a state legal entity established in 2005 to support the development of cinematography. The institute operates on the basis of the Act of June 30, 2005 on cinematography, the Act of November 9, 2018 on financial support for audiovisual production and its statute.

1st Logo (2005-)

Videos

Visuals: On a black background, a gold circle is drawn, then various gold lines follow suit. The lines form a grid inside the circle with an "X" in the center. Four white squares then fade in, the outer one being fainter than the rest, and then gain a red color on the insides, with the center square also turning red, all while the camera slowly zooms out. The grid then fades out, and "POLISH FILM INSTITUTE" or "POLSKI INSTYTUT SZTUKI FILMOWEJ" appears letter-by-letter, which then turns white.

Closing Titles:

  • The box is moved to the left and the text is arranged like in the next logo:

POLISH
FILM
INSTITUTE

  • At the end of Perfect Addiction and Infinite Storm, the logo is in white.
  • Films such as Warhunt have the logo with "POLSKI INSTYTUT SZTUKI FILMOWEJ" below and "POLISH FILM INSTITUTE" stacked below. Atop the logo is the text "A Polish Film Institute Co-Financed Production".
  • At the end of The Way Back, the English version is still.

Variants:

  • On Warhunt, the text "A Polish Film Institute Co-financed Production" appears below the Polish version of the logo.
  • On some shows, it's in-credit.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A 8-note string fanfare ending with a piano.

Audio Variant: The in-credit and closing variants has the ending theme of the movie/show playing over.

Availability:

  • Seen on the most Polish movies from this era.
  • Also seen on some Polish shows like Agi Bagi and Pamiętnik Florki.
  • This can be also seen on Wolf, a co-production with Screen Ireland, and the American co-production Warhunt.
  • Currently used in tandem with the next logo.

2nd Logo (March 25, 2022-)

Visuals: It animates like the previous logo, except that it does not zoom out. As the logo is formed, the stacked text is formed:

POLISH
FILM
INSTITUTE

or

POLSKI
INSTYTUT
SZTUKI
FILMOWEJ

The text is initially seen on a orange bordered form, while the logo pans to the left and the text "FILM" and "INSTITUTE" turns red. On the latter, the text stays white all the time.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: So far, could be seen on Infinite Storm and The Christening. It can also be seen on their recent movies, starting with The Peasants.
