Background

Prawn Song Records is an independent record label owned by Primus bassist and vocalist Les Claypool, formed in 1989. The label's name and logo are a parody of Led Zeppelin's own label Swan Song Records. Many of Prawn Song's albums were distributed by Interscope Records.

(January 23, 1996-)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a drawing of what appears to be a prawn with angel wings (in the same pose as the drawing of Icarus from the Swan Song Records logo), enclosed in a white circle outline. Underneath the drawing is the text "PRAWN SONG RECORDS".

Variant: On the Enhanced CD for Tales from the Punchbowl, the logo shares the screen with the Interscope Records and Ion Technology logos. Also, the prawn's wings are flapping and the text reads "Prawn Song Designs".

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: Either "Southbound Pachyderm" for the Enhanced CD variant, or "Too Many Puppies" for the normal variant, both by Primus.

Availability: While it has been in use since Primus' first album Suck on This, it did not have an on-screen appearance until the release of the Enhanced CD version of Tales from the Punchbowl. It also appears on their EP Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People.
