Background

Profiles Television is the production company founded by Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster. It operates two divisions, which are Earthview, Inc. and Worldrace Productions, Inc.

1st Logo (1998-October 17, 2001)

Logo: We see a video clip of rhinoceros running around. Superimposed is the yellow text, "Earthview, Inc.", in a cartoonish font zooming out.

Variant: A later version of the logo exists where the logo is shortened, and the text is in lowercase and in orange.

FX/SFX: The rhinoceros running.

Music/Sounds: A sound of a rhinoceros grumbling.

Availability: Seen on Wild Things and the first six episodes of The Amazing Race.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (October 24, 2001-May 8, 2011)

Logo: We see an orange light with a blue outline moving around in a blurry fashion, which resembles the ring. The word "WORLDVIEW", with "PRODUCTIONS, INC." in a Copperplate Gothic font stretches in from the screen. The ring shines from a sparkle effect.

Variants:

  • An earlier version exists where the ring is different and the text reads "earthview, inc." in an Arial font.
  • An enhanced version of the logo exists. This can be seen on season 18 of The Amazing Race.

FX/SFX: The light shining and the text stretching.

Music/Sounds: A whoosh sound. CBS airings used a generic theme.

Availability: Seen on most pre-2011 episodes of  The Amazing Race.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo (February 27, 2003-April 20, 2008)

Logo: On a black background, a light forms a gold text with a wave effect, "PROFILES". The word "TELEVISION PRODUCTIONS LLC" appears behind it as the light continues and "PROFILES" turns to normal. A red line fades in, and the text shines. "IN ASSOCIATION WITH" appears below.

FX/SFX: The light moving and the text shining.

Music/Sounds: None or an ABC generic theme.

Availability: Seen on Oprah's Big Give and Profiles from the Front Line.

Editor's Note: None.

4th Logo (August 2, 2011- )

Logo: On a black background with a blue light, lines draw in. The lines then reveal the word "PROFILES" in a tall font. The word "TELEVISION" fades in below the word "PROFILES".

Variants:

  • On The Amazing Race, the text reads "WORLDRACE" and "PRODUCTIONS" is shown below. Also the text is behind the globe.
  • Before 2013, on The Amazing Race, the byline "A division of Profiles Television" fades in on the Worldrace variant.
  • Sometimes, the logo is shortened.

FX/SFX: The line drawing, the revealing.

Music/Sounds: An ascending drum sound, none, the end theme of the show, or a network generic theme.

Availability: Seen on post-2011 episodes of The Amazing Race, Take the Money & Run, The Great Escape and The Quest.

Editor's Note: None.
