Background

Prospect Pictures is a British production company founded in 1988 and best known for its lifestyle and cooking programmes such as ITV's Cooks!. In the late 2000's, they were acquired by DCD Media.



1st Logo (February 21, 1989)

Visuals: Over a dark marble background is the stacked text "A Prospect PICTURES PRODUCTION". "Prospect" is in a written font with the "o"'s hole colored red, two thin lines are over and underneath "PICTURES" and two dots are next to said word. Underneath contains additional in-credit notices including a co-producer's name, the 1988 BBC Wales logo and the copyright notice.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: So far, it was seen on The BBC Diet Programme.

2nd Logo (January 11, 1993-1995)

Visuals: Similar to the previous logo except the background is white with a fog-like texture, "A" is inside a red sphere, the dots next to "PICTURES" is removed, and "PRODUCTION" is red

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: Seen on early episodes of The Good Sex Guide and There's No Business, neither of which have known exposure on home media.

3rd Logo (July 11, 1995-February 16, 2013)

Visuals: A shell resembling the letter "P" is inside a blue box with the spaced out text "PROSPECT" inside a red rectangular box. Over and underneath the logo will typically read "A PROSPECT PICTURES PRODUCTION".

Bylines:

  • Before 2008: None.
  • 2008-2012: "Part of DCD media" with said company's logo next to its name.
  • 2010: "part of DCD Media"

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the boxes are coloured purple and green with the shell intact.
  • On some programmes, the boxes are not only blue and orange respectively, but the shell image was replaced with a metal object resembling the same letter.
    • This variant may also come in a different color scheme like blue and red.
  • On I'm Your Number One Fan, the "P"-resembling image consists of metallic and curvy object.
  • Programmes produced by the company's Welsh offices adds "CYMRU" underneath "PROSPECT".
  • Likewise, the above variant may read "PROSPECT FILMS".
  • Sometimes, the DCD Media byline is squished.
  • Sometimes, it also shares the screen with other logos, including the 1993 UTV and 1988 and 1997 BBC logos.
