Background

Protagonist Pictures is a British film production company.

1st Logo (March 13, 2009-)

Logo: An in-credit notice, it consists of "PROTAGONIST" in white and "PICTURES" in place of the "I". Typically, "International Sales by" appears on top of the logo.

Variant: Sometimes, the logo is entirely in white.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the film.

Availability: Can be seen at the end of many films they have produced since 2009 starting with Bronson.

2nd Logo (March 31, 2016-)

Logo: On a black background, "PROTAGONIST" flashes in with a blue-purple glow that dies down. Shortly before the glow disappears, "PICTURES" flashes in with the same glow that fades out, replacing the "I".

Variants:

  • A small variant exists.
  • Starting in 2021, the glow surrounding "PROTAGONIST" rapidly stutters, briefly defocusing the logo before "PICTURES" pops in.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: It made its on Hunt for the Wilderpeople and was seen on Paris Can Wait, Love & Friendship, among their other films. The later variant can be seen on The Justice of Bunny King and The Innocents. On-demand services such as SVT Play as well as international releases have this logo intact.
