Background

Q Entertainment was a third-party video game developer founded on October 10, 2003 that mostly developed puzzle, hack and slash, and RPG games throughout its lifetime. They are best known for Lumines as well as Meteos and Ninety-Nine Nights. In 2013, after Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the co-founder of Q Entertainment, left the company, it became defunct.

1st Logo (March 10, 2005-September 15, 2009)

Logo: On a white background, a large "Q?" is seen above a smaller "Q ENTERTAINMENT" with "ENTERTAINMENT" in black.

Variants:

  • On Nintendo DS releases, it is seen on either the top or bottom screen.
  • On Lumines II, the logo is on a gray background.
  • On Battle Stadium D.O.N., the logo is positioned to the top right of the screen while accompanied with the Eighting Co. logo.
  • On Lumines Supernova, the background is black.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Uncommon. Debuted on Meteos, and can be seen on some games such as Lumines Supernova and Qubed.

2nd Logo (June 14, 2011-February 15, 2012)

Logo: On a blue background, there is a burst that emits light from left to right while multiple color-changing light particles flying around. While the background becomes darker, another light can be seen over the particles with it flashing "Q?" with a warm color palette and "Q ENTERTAINMENT" underneath. The "Q" has an orange light burst before it and the particles fade out, leaving the "Q?" with simply a small glow.

Technique: The light burst, the particles moving, and the reveal of the logo. Nice and colorful animation.

Music/Sounds: A burst sound, and then a ding.

Availability: Rare, due to its short lifespan. It can be seen on Child of Eden and Lumines Electronic Symphony.
