REP Distribution (short for Richard Entertainment Partners) was an Australian film distribution company formed in 1987 as a subsidiary of R.A. Becker and Co. The company was formed by Russell Becker and his son Richard Becker, whose name served as the company's namesake (it was also named after two of his friends, Richard Sheffield and Richard Guardian). The company was later folded into Becker Entertainment.
Logo (Early 1990s-Early 2000s)
Visuals: There is a star moving above a filmstrip, which move towards the left of the screen, which is soon revealed to be part of a "R". The letters "E" and "P" are next to it (each in dark grey) as the word "Distribution" writes itself on the "E" and "P" in a red script font. The byline "A DIVISION OF BECKER GROUP LIMITED" (or sometimes, "A Division of R.A. Becker & Company Pty. Ltd.") appears below in a grey block; all taking place against a sky at dusk.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A lush synthesized string/bell fanfare with whooshes.
Availability: Seen exclusively on Australian releases like the VHS release of Loch Ness and the DVD of The Man on the Moon. REP handled exclusive Australasian distribution of titles from PolyGram Filmed Entertainment, so it can be seen on Australian theatrical prints of that company's titles.
