Background

Ramu Enterprises is an Indian film company founded in 1993 by the film producer Ramu.

1st Logo (2000-2002, 2010)

Nicknames: "Majestic Non-Kannada Tower", "Low-Budget Indian 20th Century Fox"

Logo: On a midnight background, we see a 20th Century Fox-esque tower that consists of the stacked text "RAMU ENTERPRISES", which is in a bold Gill Sans font. The tower has two rows, the searchlights are in a different position, and the color is changed a bit.

Variant: An enhanced variant of the logo debuted with Law and Order.

FX/SFX: Its all in CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: The 1982 20th Century Fox fanfare, but high-pitched and with a part of the drumroll at the beginning cut. A whoosh also plays once the logo starts. Gandede has the drumroll and whoosh cut. Law and Order used a heroic fanfare.

Availability: Seen on Chamundi, and the enhanced variant has made a surprise appearance with Gandede.

Editor's Note: This logo is just a Indian copycat of the 1994 20th Century Fox logo, with cheap animation (though is in better quality in the variant) and the blatant steal of the 1982 fanfare from the company's 1981 logo (though Law and Order has its own theme for the logo however).

2nd Logo (2003-2004)

Logo: On a black background, a crystal sphere with blue rays flies to the camera and shatters. 2D golden stars fly to the shattered object, then a golden 3D star forms. It then shines and flashes until it becomes the company name, in Kannada and afterwards in English, reading "RAMU enterprises". The text then materializes into the background.

FX/SFX: Well-done CGI.

Music/Sounds: A bombastic fanfare

Availability: Seen on Hollywood and Malla. Filmed variants also exist.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo (2004-2011)

Nicknames: "Ultra Majestic Kannada Tower", "Not-So-Bad 20th Century Fox Ripoff"

Logo: An exact copy of the 1994 20th Century Fox logo, complete with the panning (only that in one point it is slower) and the searchlights swooping across the screen, but with the "20th Century Fox" text replaced with the Kannada words for "Ramu Films" (2004-2005) or Ramu Enterprises (2008-2011), and the Los Angeles skyline is much different. When the camera settles, the subtitle "RAMU FILMS" (2004-2005) or "RAMU ENTERPRISES" (2008-2011) fades in below the structure.

Variant: Kanteerava had a sepia-style tint through the logo.

FX/SFX: The camera panning and the moving searchlights.

Music/Sounds: It differs from any film:

  • Kalasipalya had a loud majestic fanfare, as seen on the video on the right.
  • Auto Shankar had the logo with a dramatic orchestral fanfare.
  • Gooli had the complete 1997 20th Century Fox fanfare, but high pitched with some loud whooshes.
  • Masti and Gulama had a news-like fanfare.
  • Kanteerava had the complete 20th Century Fox fanfare again, (In this case, they use the John Williams fanfare) with the 1st half of the drumroll repeated twice.

Availability: Very rare. Was seen on the Kannada movies listed above. Don't expect to see this in Kiccha.

Editor's Note: For a logo that is such a blatant knockoff, it's surprisingly not that bad in terms of animation quality.

4th Logo (2009)

Nickname: "Helicopters Over The Sea"

Logo: On an ocean against a blue sky, some helicopters fly until they reach the word "RAMU ENTERPRISES", which is in gold, floating above the ocean, behind an iceberg. Underneath, the helicopters fly below the wordmark.

FX/SFX: Decent CGI.

Music/Sounds: TBA.

Availability: Seen on Rajani.

Editor's Note: None.

5th Logo (2011-2013)

Nickname: "Ramu Letters In Space"

Logo: TBA.

FX/SFX: TBA.

Music/Sounds: TBA.

Availability: Seen on Shakthi, Sagar and Election.

Editor's Note: None.

6th Logo (2013-)

Nicknames: "Ultra Majestic Kannada Tower II", "Not-So-Bad 20th Century Fox Ripoff II", "Ultra-Majestic Bilingual Tower"

Logo: Similar to the "Ramu Films" variant of the 3rd logo, but more cheaper and the colors on the structure are different, and the sky is now a blue night sky backdrop, similar to the 1953 20th Century Fox logo. As the camera takes its place, two searchlights swoop in the screen, turning the text to "RAMU FILMS", with "RAMU" in a tall Agency FB and "FILMS" in Arial.

FX/SFX: The camera panning and the moving searchlights, the two searchlights transforming the text.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Very rare. Could be only seen on YouTube.

Editor's Note: A cheaper rendition of the 3rd logo but better than the 1st logo. The English name is now in the structure itself instead of just a byline.
