'''Logo:''' The logo begins with a gold satellite spinning on a space background. There are stars shining in the background. This transitions to a tower-like outline with Earth beside it. Colorful blocks (it's hard to explain what they are) then appear. From the left, a horizontal grid appears with a satellite rising out of it. A circular pattern "shoots" out of the satellite. This pattern zooms out, and two horizontal gold chevrons appear from opposing sites. The pattern is now a red chrome ball in the center. "BANDEIRANTES" in a tall, bold font is seen on the bottom.

Background

Rede Bandeirantes (or simply known/shortened as Band) is a Brazilian free-to-air television network. It began broadcasting on May 13, 1967 on VHF channel 13 in São Paulo. Its founder was businessman João Saad with the help of his father-in-law and former São Paulo governor Adhemar de Barros. In terms of audience and revenue, it is currently the fourth largest Brazilian television network. It broadcasts throughout Brazil through its owned-and-operated stations and affiliates. It also has a series of pay TV channels and it broadcasts internationally via Band Internacional.

1st Logo (1967-1972)

Visuals: On a tan background, we see 2 spiral-like shapes in gray surrounding a circle in the same color, with the number "13" in tan. All of the shapes then get closer to the screen before transforming into another shape in the same color, which in turn transitions to the following program's opening.

Variant: Sometimes, the shapes don't transform, and therefore, shortened.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: An eerie echo-like announcer saying in Portuguese "TV Bandeirantes, Channel 13, presents".

2nd Logo (1972-1978)

Visuals: On a tan background with dark green leaves, we see a multi-colored butterfly flying to the right. After 10 seconds, it gets on the blue text "CANAL". Then the scene expands to reveal the text to be on a blue number "13".

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A Brazilian Choir, along with a Brazilian Announcer saying something.

Availability: Only actually seen on Band: 35 Years of Historia.

3rd Logo (1978-1980)

Visuals: On a black background, we see the shapes from the 1st logo now in a green outline in the center, and the text "BANDEIRANTES" in the same color below. Then the shapes and text "shine".

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A loud synth noise is heard. A few times, only the opening theme of the program is heard.

4th Logo (1980-1982)

Visuals: We see a satellite (possibly Intelsat-5) flying over a blue/white globe, then a line is formed with the 2 brown curves on a circle, forming the Band logo from the time. Sparkles appear below revealing the word "Bandeirantes" on a stylised font (Motter Tektura), while the logo is changes to white.

Variants: A multitude of variants exist, including one where the eye logo opens.

Technique: Live action.

Audio: A Brazilian announcer, along with a majestic 4-note tune at the end.

5th Logo (1982-1989)

Visuals: The logo begins with a gold satellite spinning on a space background.

Technique: Scanimate and live action, supposedly done by Image West.

Audio: It starts off with a synth flourish accompanied with a few dark piano notes. This theme continues until the logo formation, until the final logo forms. From then, six piano notes play, followed by a four-note synthesized jingle which eventually filters out. An announcer accompanies this. He says (in English): "ZYB 514 Rede Bandeirantes Rio de Janeiro. The image of space".

Availability: May have appeared on old tapes, but this is highly unlikely. Check Brazilian VHS archives (if there are any), go to Brazil to find a VHS with this logo, or search on YouTube/Dailymotion/etc. to find this.

6th Logo (1989-1992)

Visuals: On a white background, we see multiple lime green buttons and a few tall cylinders. Then the camera moves all over the place to reveal more buttons and cylinders. Then the camera points at a sphere and an eye outline backs away to surround the sphere. The company name somehow doesn't appear.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Like most Central and South American IDs, a majestic synth tune.

7th Logo (1997-2002)

Visuals: We start on a red background, which deforms, revealing the text "BAND" in the same color. One of the copies in the center stretches to reveal a red tilted circle in the distance. The circle gets closer and unflips until it covers the screen. Then it zooms out to reveal a sphere. When the sphere is nearly done zooming out, an eye outline in white forms and the text "BAND" in a red outline appears below.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Instrument music and a few whooshes.

8th Logo (2002-2010)

Visuals: We see green tinted city, with several people on a corner, pointing the city, while we zoom-in we see the channel logo from the time rotating and zooming to the screen, then on a blind-like transition we see a soccer player kicking a ball, in another transition effect, we see what look some kind of channel station with several people working in. One of them look in one of the monitors (which shows the channel logo), and progressively zooms to it. Finally, another blind-transition effect appears, and we see the channel logo spinning until it stops to the screen, on a dotted-like background.

Technique: CGI along with cut-out animation.

Audio: A calm music theme.

9th Logo (2010-)

Visuals: On a white background, a bunch of yellow and white squares are shown appearing (some having holes). Then it cuts to the squares forming into lines. Then a trail of green and white lines passing by are shown, where it then cuts to the trail of yellow and white lines from before passing by and turning direction. It does this for seven seconds until the green and white lines stop. Then it reveals the Band logo in green and white forming by the lines. Once it's done, the logo "shines".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A majestic theme.
