Background

Reflexive Entertainment was founded in 1997 and after the release of Lionheart in 2003, they focused entirely on net-publishing and small game development. In 2008, the company was acquired by online shopping company Amazon.

1st Logo (1998)

Logo: On a rusty metal background, there is a red oval shield with an infinity knot made in 3D on it. Below, the word "REFLEXIVE" is written in its corporate font. All the logo is also covered with rust.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on Swarm.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (2001)

Logo: As we move across the space, the Reflexive shield fades in, shining with blue light. Then "entertainment" is wiped below.

FX/SFX: The logo shining and wiping.

Music/Sounds: Just a hollow background sound.

Availability: Seen on Star Trek: Away Team.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo (2001-2004)

Logo: We see a space full of tubes and gears, with a window full of purple vortex. A blue comet appears heading to the window, hits the vortex and makes a lot of light. The light organizes into the Reflexive shield, drawing the infinity knot on it, and the company name zooms in below.

FX/SFX: Moving gears, light comet and effects.

Music/Sounds: The sounds of comet flying and shield drawing.

Availability: Seen on Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader.

Editor's Note: None.

4th Logo (2004-2008)

Logo: A superman (custom model; not the Man of Steel himself) jumps into the screen, and stands watching at us and grinning. Suddenly, the letters "re" fall from the sky, and he barely escapes to the right. Then, the word "flex" falls down, making the superman jump away again. Third time, he escapes from the falling "ive" and rises into the air. The Reflexive shield falls down, the superman catches it and with great efforts he moves it straight. The logo fades.

FX/SFX: Flash animation of the superman and falling objects.

Variant: The logo described was used for development, but there was a black-background publishing variant with no animation.

Music/Sounds: Metallic sounds when the letters hit the floor, the superman puffing when lifting the shield, then he pronounces "Ree-flexive".

Availability: No longer current, but still common on developed games, such as the two Big Kahuna Reef sequels, Big Kahuna Words and Big Kahuna Reef 2 - Chain Reaction. Also seen on Ricochet Infinity.

Editor's Note: None.

5th Logo (2008-2010)

Logo: The enhanced 3D Reflexive shield fades in, similar to the 2nd logo, with the text "DEVELOPED BY" above. A light streak runs over the logo border, and the picture fades out.

FX/SFX: The light streak.

Music/Sounds: Some kind of "street-shop" tune ending with a windy pass, and the light striking sound.

Availability: Used on developed games, like Music Catch.

Editor's Note: None.
