Background

Reflexive Entertainment was founded in 1997 and after the release of Lionheart in 2003, they focused entirely on net-publishing and small game development. In 2008, the company was acquired by online shopping company Amazon.

1st Logo (March 1998)

Logo: On a rusty metal background, we see a red oval shield with an infinity knot made in 3D on it. Below, we the word "Reflexive" written in a slightly spaced-out font. The entire logo is also covered with rust.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on Swarm.

2nd Logo (March 20, 2001)


Logo: As we move across a reddish-yellow space background, the Reflexive shield fades in, shining with blue light. Then "entertainment" is wiped below.

FX/SFX: The logo shining and wiping.

Music/Sounds: Just a hollow background sound with a whoosh.

Availability: Seen on Star Trek: Away Team.

3rd Logo (August 13, 2003)


Logo: We see a space full of tubes and gears, with a window full of purple vortex. A blue comet appears heading to the window, hits the vortex and makes a lot of light. The light organizes into the Reflexive shield, drawing the infinity knot on it, and the company name zooms in below.

FX/SFX: Moving gears, light comet and effects.

Music/Sounds: The sounds of comet flying and shield drawing.

Availability: Seen on Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader.

4th Logo (September 14, 2004-May 2008)


Logo: On a white background, A CGI super hero wearing a black skintight suit with white markings and a cape jumps into the screen, and stands looking at us and smiling. Suddenly, the letters "Re" fall from the sky, and he dives to the right. Then, the letters "flex" fall down, making the hero jump away again. Third time, he escapes from the falling "ive" and rises into the air. The Reflexive shield falls down, the catches it and with great effort, he moves it straight. The logo fades out shortly after.

FX/SFX: Basic CGI animation of the hero and the falling objects.

Variant: The logo described was used for development, but there was a still version on a black background for publishing.

Music/Sounds: Metallic sounds when the letters hit the floor, the hero straining when lifting the shield, then, he pronounces "Ree-flexive" in a deep voice.

Availability: No longer current, but still common on developed games, such as the two Big Kahuna Reef sequels, Big Kahuna Words and Big Kahuna Reef 2 - Chain Reaction. Also seen on Ricochet Infinity.

5th Logo (May 2008-2010)

Logo: The enhanced 3D Reflexive shield fades in, similar to the 2nd logo, with the text "DEVELOPED BY" above. A light streak runs over the logo border, and the picture fades out.

FX/SFX: The light streak.

Variants: A still version of the logo exists on some games.

Music/Sounds: Some kind of "street-shop" tune ending with a windy pass, and the light striking sound.

Availability: Used on developed games, like Music Catch. The still version can be seen on other games, like Wik & the Fable of Souls.
