Background: Regency Television was a television production company established in 1998 as a joint-venture between Regency Enterprises and Fox Television Studios. In 2007, Regency Television shut down all production and closed its business after nearly ten years of operations. On January 17, 2011, New Regency announced to re-launch its television division after 20th Century Fox announced to extend its distribution deal with New Regency until 2022. Regency first went into television production with the short-lived 1994 animated series Free Willy in association with Warner Bros. Television and Nelvana.


1st Logo (September 24-November 26, 1994)

Nickname: "The Stylized R"Regency Television (1994)

Logo: Just a white still version of the movie logo on a black background.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Rare. It was only seen on the short-lived animated series Free Willy.

Nicknames: "The Stylized R II", "Regency on TV"

Logo: We see a shortened variant of the movie logo, but the word "TELEVISION" was placed under the word "REGENCY". Underneath is the byline "A FOX TELEVISION STUDIOS/NEW REGENCY COMPANY".

Variant: On some shows starting in 2000, the logo would appear bylineless.

FX/SFX: Just the shining wipe animation.

Music/Sounds: The final flourishing note of the Regency movie logo fanfare.

Music/Sounds Variant: On How to Marry A Billionaire A Christmas Tale, a 3-note violin is used.

Availability: Common. Seen on shows from the company during the period, such as Roswell, Malcolm in the Middle, New Amsterdam and The Bernie Mac Show. Also seen on the TV MovieHow to Marry A Billionaire A Christmas Tale.
