Background
Regent Releasing (formerly Regent Entertainment) was a film distributor and earlier a television production company founded by Paul Colichman (former head of IRS Releasing) and Stephen P. Jarchow in the mid-1990s. In 2009, the company was merged with Here Networks to form Here Media.
Regent Entertainment
1st Logo (1996-June 8, 2000)
Visuals: On a white background, the shiny black 3D text "REGENT" slowly pans out. After doing so, the text "ENTERTAINMENT" fades in underneath.
Variants:
- A still version exists, where the logo is on a metallic background, the logo has large shadows coming behind it, and it is being shown by a spotlight.
- A closing print variation also exists.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A short flute/string tune with a glockenspiel that turns into an orchestral fanfare, none, or the closing theme.
Availability:
- Appears on some original prints of I'll Remember April (most use the 3rd logo) and on The Crimson Code/Red Team, as well as other TV movies and films of the time.
- The closing print version was used until 2000.
2nd Logo (June 4, 1999-March 15, 2001)
Visuals: On a blue-gray background, there is a stylized blue man with a sword, shaped like letter "R". The company name is seen below in black.
Technique: A still picture.
Audio: Either a short breezy synth tune or the closing theme of the movie.
Availability: Appears on Free Enterprise and Britannic.
3rd Logo (June 4-December 20, 2000)
Visuals: There is the logo revealed, starting from the sword. The name shines when fading in, with "REGENT" now in yellow and all other logo blue. The figure also possesses certain glow effect.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: A quiet string theme.
Audio Variant: On newer prints of I'll Remember April, it uses the next logo's music.
Availability: It appears on Harlan County War and some later prints of I'll Remember April.
4th Logo (October 22, 2000-2009)
Visuals: On a black background, there's a metallic strip coming to the screen while shining.
