Background

This is the production company of actor, comedian, film director, and writer Robert Townsend.

The Townsend Entertainment Corporation

(September 6, 1995-July 25, 1999)

Logo: On a forest green background, we see a thin light green rectangle surrounding another rectangle, encasing a transparent cloud that in itself features a set of clouds moving through the sky. On top of the transparent cloud, we see the words:

The
Townsend
Entertainment Corporation

Underneath the words "Entertainment Corporation" is a gray-white line that shines from left to right as the clouds in the background are constantly moving.

Variant: On The Parent 'Hood episode "Robert in the 'Hood", the clouds are moving in the opposite direction and there is no shine effect on the rectangle.

Technique: Simple 2D animation and live-action for the clouds.

Music/Sounds: A 5-note piano theme.

Music/Sounds Variant: On The Parent 'Hood episode "Robert in the 'Hood", a 7-note bongo/steel drum tune is heard.

Availability: It was seen on all post-S1 episodes of The Parent 'Hood on Bounce TV.

Robert Townsend Productions

(November 20, 2004-April 28, 2007)

Logo: On a white background (the background of the closing credits), we see the words "ROBERT" and "TOWNSEND" in a small font dropping down to the middle of the screen from above, one at a time, followed by the word "PRODUCTIONS" in a slightly larger font than the Robert Townsend name rising from below the screen, smashing into the Robert Townsend name and causing the whole name to shake slightly for a few seconds.

Technique: Cheap 3D animation.

Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show with a female voiceover saying "This has been a Robert Townsend production".

Availability: Extinct. Appeared on the Black Family Channel game show Thousand-Dollar Bee.
