Background

Romana Film was an Italian film production and distribution company founded in 1946 by Italian film producer Fortunato Misiano. It was founded in Rome immediately after the WWII ended. The production activity decreased after the death of Fortunato, which would eventually be continued by his son Franco Misiano.

(1961-December 30, 1965)

Logo: Set on a partly cloudy setting, we se 2 silhouettes of St. Peter's Basilica and the Colosseum. A light from the front eventually illuminates the 2 buildings, Which is followed by a gold "ROMANA" to appear between the 2 buildings letter by letter, and once that is complete, "FILM" in the same format wipes in underneath, along with "PRESENTA" to appear underneath said text performing the same motion.

Variant: On Zorro contro Maciste, the setting is slightly darker, the buildings are slightly further apart, and the clouds are illustrated differently.

Technique: Cel animation and rostrum camera.

Music/Sounds: A majestic orchestral fanfare with bells corresponding to the text appearing.

Availability: Was seen on some films produced by Romana Film, including Zorro contro Maciste, 008 Operazione Stermino and Super Seven Calling Cairo.
