Background
Rosebud Releasing Corporation was a distribution company that only released one film, Evil Dead II, made by De Laurentiis Entertainment Group. Some sources believe that Rosebud might have been a shell corporation created by De Laurentiis solely to release it unrated after the Motion Picture Association of America classified it with an "X" (now equivalent to NC-17) rating.
Logo (March 13, 1987)
Visuals: There is a live action time lapse shot of a blooming yellow flower against a static cloud background. The word "ROSEBUD" appears in an arch at the top of the screen and "RELEASING CORPORATION" is seen at the bottom.
Trivia: The logo was designed by Sam Raimi, director of the Evil Dead trilogy and founder of Raimi Productions.
Technique: Time lapse live action. 2D animation for the text.
Audio: None, but at the end of the film, a buzzing sound is heard.
Audio Trivia: The buzzing sound was lifted from the first Evil Dead film.
