Background

Sabella Dern Entertainment (also known as SD Entertainment) is an American animation studio founded in 1999 by former MGM Animation employees Paul Sabella and Jonathan Dern. The company is based in Woodland Hills, California. The company is known for producing animated films and TV shows based on properties such as the Care Bears. The company has been dormant since the early 2010's, as they have been bought out by Cinedigm. The company didn't receive an on-screen logo until 2001.

1st Logo (2002-2011)

Logo: On a black background, the blue wire-frame letters "s" and "d", in a tube-like font, fly in from both sides from the screen and rest in place as a slime-like substance covers them, turning them into an orange-red gradient color. A golden yellow ball shoots up from the bottom of the screen and starts to ricochet off the letters, shaking them a bit. It hops off the upper right corner and lands into the spot made by the letters, causing it to emit a bright flash. It dies down, revealing "SABELLA DERN ENTERTAINMENT" in a thin font, below the logo. The letters shine.

Variants: olor|blue}} wire-frame letters "s" and "d", in a tube-like font, fly in from both sides from the screen and rest in place as a slime-like substance covers th

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: A whirl-like sound when the letters fly in and other sounds to the actions. A whoosh is heard when the ball shines and a reversed crystal sound is heard when the logo shines. The short version just has the crystal sound and the still version has the end theme.

Music/Sounds Variant: On My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade, the long version's music is heard over the short version.

Availability: Common. This can be seen on Bob the Builder: Ready, Steady Build!, Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps, Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-lot, My Little Pony, Alien Racers, Transformers: Armada and the half-hour version of Make Way for Noddy (including semi-localized prints hosted by Dorothy Nam). The long version can be seen on Noddy Saves Christmas and Candy Land: The Great Lollipop Adventure.

2nd Logo (2005-2007. Respectly on 1999-2004)

Logo: On a black-teal gradient background, we see the "sd" logo from the previous logo but slightly modified with a gold ball between the two letters. "ENTERTAINMENT" is seen below. The logo glows with a white outline.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: None or the closing theme of the show.

Availability: Extremely rare. This was seen on PBS Kids and Sprout airings of Make Way for Noddy.
