Background
Scholastic-Lorimar Home Video was formed as a joint venture between Scholastic Corporation and Karl-Lorimar Home Video to distribute videos based on the former's products. The joint venture ceased to exist in 1987 when Scholastic joined Family Home Entertainment, and a new label, Jim Henson Play-Along Video served as a replacement label.
Logo (1985-1986)
Visuals: On a black background, an elgonated ocatgon-shaped marquee sign in a metallic gold color is seen, with the blue text "SCHOLASTIC·LORIMAR" in front of it with a shadow effect on it. On top of the marquee, there is a filmstrip flanked on the ends, also in metallic gold with white holes, with a golden Scholastic logo in the middle of it and the text "HOME VIDEO" in a white Copperlate font.
Technique: A still graphic.
Audio: None.
Availability: It can be seen on the original VHS release of Clifford's Sing-Along Adventure, as well as Aesop's Fables and The Baseball Bunch. It was also seen at the end of ABC's Fun Fit with Mary Lou Retten. Later videos from the Scholastic-Lorimar label (as well as a Lorimar-era reprint of Clifford's Sing-Along Adventure) skip the logo, going straight to the program.
