Background

Screamtime Films is an independent horror film production company and distributor founded in 1990 by Todd Jason Falcon Cook as Horrorscope Films. They specializes in indie and low-budget horror films and accepts submissions from the public for distribution through VHS, DVD, and instant video. As of 2022, the company is still actively producing and distributing films.

1st Logo (2005-)

Logo: On a pitch black background, we see a very gruesome image of a skeleton with eyes covered completely in blood from the torso up. The skeleton is on the far left of the screen with a pool of blood right next to it. On the right of the screen, we see "SCREAMTIME FILMS" written in a scary and bloody font with the "S" and the "F" much bigger than the rest of the company's name.

Variants:

  • The font of the logo may vary such as one in a more stylized horror font
    • In other cases, the first letter of both words are replaced with that from aforementioned variant.
  • The size of the skeleton may also vary. Sometimes, the full shot of it is seen while other times it is more closer.
    • Plus, on one trailer, the text is smaller and about a third bigger than the skeleton's head.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme playing over it.

Music/Sounds Variant: Sometimes, a woman screaming in terror is heard.

Availability: Common. Had appeared on almost all VHS, DVD, and instant video releases by the company, which can easily be found on their website. These include home media re-releases of Evil Night, Night of the Clown, and The Dummy, as well as newer films such as Zombified, Bloody Drama, Demon Dolls: Evil Spirits, and much more. The variant with the screaming woman was seen on modern VHS releases of Demon Dolls and Zombified.

Editor's Note: Some people might be startled by the logo's gruesome imagery and many might be scared by the screaming variant. However, it's intentional considering the company's theme.

2nd Logo (2009-)

Logo: On a black background, blood splatters all over the screen from the left with the head of the same skeleton sliding in the same direction. Shortly after, this shot crossfades to the company name "SCREAMTIME FILMS" in the same font as the first logo's alternate font variant with blood spilling and covering much of the screen. The screen cuts to black and then the aforementioned head and text appears with the latter on the right and with blood dripping from the top albeit in a smaller amount as before.

Variants:

  • An early version has the final shot of both the head and text missing.
  • On Curse of the Slasher Nurse, the final shot is replaced with the Slasher 15 Media logo.

FX/SFX: The blood splattering and dripping, the head sliding, and the screen crossfading.

Music/Sounds: Blood splattering and the same scream from before, followed by a suspenseful horror sting and guts falling to the ground, which gets cut by two heart beats.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On the aforementioned shortened variant, only one heart beat is heard.
  • On Return of the Slasher Nurse, the audio is louder with the horror sting amplified. Several light buzzes can also be heard at the end.

Availability: Uncommon. It can be seen on Pros and Cons, Another Evil Night, Return of the Slasher Nurse, and possibly a few more films from the company. Currently, it is used in tandem with the previous logo on movies and trailers.
