Technique: Computer animation.

Music/Sounds: None.

5th Logo (2003)

Logo: On a night sky, we see a lighthouse. It shines a light, then zooms out while the night sky behind it fades into a blue box and crops while zooming, while the lighthouse becomes the familiar lighthouse symbol. The text is seen on the right, but in the 1st logo's form. This is seen on a blue background with a glass cut out of the NBC logo which moves to the right. The logos for Scripps networks at the time then fade in one by one.

Trivia: This sequence was part of WPTV's branding from the era that was designed by Giant Octopus. A still frame of the lighthouse portion of this logo was featured in the WPTV graphics package gallery on their early-2000s website.

Technique: CGI of the zooming, NBC glass cut out moving, and the networks' logos; the lighthouse scene appears to be live-action.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the newscast, followed by a bell rendition of the NBC chimes, with Ed Hopkins saying "Associated with the Scripps Networks family".

Availability: Rare. Only seen on an 11PM WPTV newscast, and since then became extremely hard to find.

6th Logo (2004)

Logo: On a purple background, the Academic Challenge logo pans to the right. The lighthouse then appears and shines. The last logo's text is seen on the left, albeit in a generic script font. Copyright info is seen below the text.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme.

Availability: Rare. Only seen on Academic Challenge.
