Background

Seattle Public Schools Television (or simply SPSTV) is the local television arm operated by Seattle Public Schools in Seattle, Washington.

(October 28, 2019-)

Logo: On a black background, two opposite lines are drawn, forming a white square which gains its fill through wiping effect. "CREATED BY" scrolls upwards from the formed upper line. Inside the square, "SPS" is drawn while two stylized humans and a gold star with two curvy rays fade and slide in. "TV" slides to the right from the formed, second "S" in SPS". Next, the copyright year slides down underneath the square. A few seconds later, the outer text get absorbed into the square as the logo bounces back and shrinks away.

Variant: Seattle Public School's name may be added into the copyright notice.

Technique: Flash animation.

Music/Sounds: A rock soundtrack accompanied with clapping.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • Starting on January 6, 2021, the fourth note was rearranged to a higher pitch.
  • On the Coronavirus update video, a short guitar sting was added to the beginning of the soundtrack. Additionally, whooshes are heard throughout the logo.
Availability: It made its debut on the School Beat episode "Keeping Our Schools Healthy" and was seen at the end of some of their other programs such as graduation specials (e.g. the 2022 Lincoln High School Graduation). The slightly rearranged score debuted on "Welcome to Seattle Public Schools - 2022".
