Background

Shamley Productions was filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock's production company. It was named after the British village of Shamley Green, where the Hitchcocks owned a country retreat. On August 1964, Alfred Hitchcock handed over ownership of the company to Universal, along with its distribution rights of its shows, eventually folding its operations.
