Background

Shed Productions, part of Warner Bros. Television Studios UK, was an independent UK television production company, specialising in contemporary, original drama programming and content. It was established in 1998 by Eileen Gallagher, Brian Park, Ann McManus and Maureen Chadwick, who previously worked together at Granada Television. As of October 2015, it no longer exists as a company, with all properties folded into Wall to Wall Media.

1st Logo (1 June 1999-2015)

Visuals: On a black or white background, there is the text "Shed" written in a stylised font, with two red lines on top of the H and D forming a shape of a roof, and the word "Productions" written below it.

Variants:

  • On early episodes of Footballers' Wives and S3/S4 episodes of Bad Girls, the logo would have a blob-ish shape (which contains the show's end credits) next to it. For Footballers' Wives, it would be colored blue and for Bad Girls, it would be colored gold.
  • A proper widescreen variant of the logo would appear on post-2003 episodes of their shows.
  • On Waterloo Road and Hope Springs, the logo appears with the 1997 BBC logo, with the one from Hope Springs having a Shedmedia byline below it.
  • On a behind-the-scenes featurette of Bad Girls, a copyright stamp appears below the logo.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme or none.

Availability: It was seen on all of the shows produced by them.

2nd Logo (15 July 2006)

Visuals: There is a cloudy desert-like place, with a couple of lightposts and a shed, with it's lights turned on. As the camera slowly zooms in to the window of the shed from the left part of the screen, a hand writes on the wet window the word "Shed", and then finishes off with drawing two lines on top of the H and D connecting to each other to simulate a roof. The sequence transitions to the Shed Productions logo.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: The only piece of media from Shed that has this logo is The Last Ever, Ever Footballers' Wives, a fake last episode of the series, shown on BBC Sport. Although, it seems unlikely that Shed made this logo only to use it for a fake episode.
