Background

ShondaLand is the production company of Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey's Anatomy.

1st Logo (September 25, 2005-November 19, 2015)

Logo: On a pink surface, we see a blue rollercoaster with chasing lights on it built around a huge hanging heart, shining as it is made of glass. The name ShondaLand, in a decorative pink font, hangs above the structure.

Variant: On the final episode of Private Practice, the heart deflates, the lights bust out, and the cart stops moving. Note that in this one, the heart looks like a balloon.

FX/SFX: Flashing of the attraction lights. The "LAND" also flickers once.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme. In some cases, you can hear the rollercoaster's wheels moving on the track, a zapping sound from when "LAND" flickers as well as high-pitched voices screaming "Wheeeeeee!" and "Hooray!", and a 7-note tune. On the variant where the heart deflates, the voices say "Awwww.."

Availability: Common. First seen on season 2 of Grey's Anatomy. Private Practice , Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder also have this logo.

Editor's Note: None, but the Private Practice one may startle a few.
