Background

Silicon Dreams was a British video game developer founded in 1994. It was headquartered in Adderbury, England.

1st Logo (March 1994 - 1996)

Visuals: On a blue smoke background, there is a line. It turns to reveal a uniquely shaped "SD". Then, a shine makes the background white. The "SD" then shatters, which reveals a smaller version of the "SD" with the text "Silicon Dreams" in the Rotis Semi Serif 65 Greek Bold font. Then, the logo fades to black.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A droning synth tune combined with a blast-like shattering sound when the "SD" shatters.

Availability: Only seen on Olympic Games: Atlanta 1996.

2nd Logo (1996 - 2002)

Visuals: There is a kid's bedroom with a desk with paining items in it. The camera zooms into the "magic goo", which shines. The magic goo then falls down to the desk, which takes out the goo. It moves to the piece of paper, which forms an image with the same "SD" and text from before, except that the text is in the left, "SD" is now blue, and it has an orange diamond behind it. The camera then rapidly zooms into the paper.

Technique: CGI animation.

Audio: A dramatic fanfare with drumbeats.

Availability: Seen on most of the company's releases from the time period, such as Dogs of War, Soccer '97, Chill, UEFA Dream Soccer, Soccer Mania, LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge and Island Xtreme Stunts.
